Will I be toothless when the implant heals?
During the implant healing phase you will not be toothless. Several options exist. We can bond a tooth in place, we can make a temporary partial denture or we can place a temporary crown on the implant at the time of placement. When you are missing all of your teeth, we adapt the denture to fit over the implants or, in many cases, we can attach the implants to the dentures at the time they are placed.
Will I be able to eat meat and apples?
Dental implants greatly improve your chewing function. Implants with crowns attached to them function like they are your own teeth so you can eat a normal diet. Dentures attached to implants are very stable so you will be able to eat with confidence foods that you haven’t enjoyed since you lost your teeth.
Can I have my dentures on the same day as implant placement?
We plan very carefully so that you can have your dentures at the same time as the dental implants. Often this will be a temporary denture that will be replaced when the body has properly healed around the dental implants.
How will I know if I like the crown before it is made?
Our emphasis is on planning to satisfy your expectations. We frequently do a “five-minute-make-over” so that you can see what the teeth will look like before we begin the work. Also the temporary crowns are made to approximate the crowns.
